Ballerina's tale

Ballerina's tale

"Angles and mirrors, calculated steps/
your soubresaut and pirouettes."

Why, it was not so terrible after all! What was all this worry for?

Things could be golden and bright, if one only moved quick enough.
But, hark! Liquid, this beauty was fleeting, and Desperate for more,
she sought outstretched limbs and grew her hair to prove she lived,
to prove her existence.

(and despite the brave face, the suffering and pain)

The applause fell with the curtains; the sound of rain.

I am free, well and truly - my last interviews concluded on the 6th, and since then I don't think I've had a day to myself. Busy/busy/busy - the trip interstate was wonderful for me, a lot of retail therapy and spending time with extended family. Been seeing lots of friends, applying for work at bookstores, filling my closet with pastels and crimsons and navy. A little bit all over the place: December is never quite calm, always filled with lights and candy and the strangest weather.

It's hard to decipher what should be published/what should be kept hidden for a while longer, these days. These posts seem to be mirrors; different reflections of the same moods - perhaps I only post when I am nostalgic, aching for delicacy and lightness and feathered friends; perhaps I simply live in an irremovable state of rose-coloured clouds.

Regardless, I solemnly swear to be more this summer. Working towards writing more pieces like this, and this: refraining from simple, delicacies such as the amateur lines above.
I've been a little bit absent all year, haven't I? Maybe I have outgrown this place (maybe it has outgrown me), but I am not quite ready to move on yet, so stay with me a little while longer, won't you?

Love, always

  1. Of course we shall stay with you a little longer! Forever, if need be. :)

Though I haven't meant to be, I've been horribly remiss in the commenting department. I can't imagine why! Your words are as stunningly beautiful as ever. <3
